ALERT - African Leadership Empowerment, Reconciliation, and Transformation - is a Christian ministry led by Kisongo Mbeleulu, NCNC Associate Pastor. ALERT exists to promote and empower servant leadership in Africa and build strong reconciled communities which address in a biblical perspective the real issues that seek to denigrate, dehumanized and destroy communities in the Congo and Africa.
ALERT is establishing an African Center for training Christian leaders who will be agents of transformation of their communities for the glory of God and the joy of all the people in the African Great Lake Region. To achieve this purpose, many projects are envisioned: training, research and publication, a media center, a library, a bookstore, a national leadership conference, a conflict resolution center and Christian micro financial initiatives, etc. In 2014 the Lord has been so gracious to ALERT by pouring blessings in to the ministry: 1. Tabitha Sewing Project in Bukavu—Increased its sewing equipment with three brand new machines, allowing women to produce bags to sell at the local market. 2. Conferences—Two conferences were organized on community development and Christ-Based Servant Leadership, one on economic development in Biblical perspective, and conferences on training how to farm in God’s way. 3. Publication— ALERT has two evangelical tracts in Swahili in print to reach out to local communities in Congo with messages of anti-corruption, anti-rape and justice, righteousness, and safety for women.
