Joshua - "A New Day Breaking Through"
New Message Series Starting February 13, 2020 by Pastor Terrance
Why Joshua? I chose Joshua because after reflecting on NCNC’s journey over the past couple of years, and praying with and for the people of our faith community, one thing seemed clear to me: We all need to be reminded of the victory that we have in God.
Joshua and the Hebrew people were embarking on a new journey after losing their leader, Moses. All they really had was hope in the promised land and trusting in the One that gave the promise. To claim the promised victory, they would need to go through some refining fire. New City, we have victory promised us in Christ, though on any given day or moment of the day, we may feel as if we have no victory at all. The book of Joshua is our road map of how we continue to move forward in our everyday lives especially when we may be faced with the pain of the past, weariness & confusion of today, and uncertainty of an unknown future. We all have fluctuating emotions and perspectives as we move into the coming days of God’s refining work in us. Yet, we can remain strong and courageous through it all knowing there is so much waiting for us on the other side. |
